Tour Details
Top Museum of the World: Acropolis Museum
Designed by renowned Swiss architect Bernard Tschumi and notable Greek architect Michalis Photiadis, the Acropolis Museum captivates guests on approach. Its seamless modern lines elegantly incorporate artifacts exclusively from the Acropolis, and excavations are also visible under glass floors and walkways. The marbled surviving treasures are impressively displayed with the use of natural light, situated on a modernist open layout. Panoramic views top the experience.
The tour ends at the Acropolis Museum at approximately 15:00 (3:00 pm).

What other tourists are
saying about us
We did both a private tour and a sunset group tour, in addition Travel Meteora arranged the train tickets from Athens and the pick up from and back to the train station. The tours were informative, professional, the monasteries are impressive, the culture and tradition are rich, the views are magnificent and the landscape is spectacular.
We absolutely loved the sunset tour with Visit Meteora. The hotel pick up was smooth, the trip very well organised and moving at a fast pace so as to include a lot of stops within the four hour tour. Our guide and the driver of the tour were very friendly and really went above and beyond to make our experience excellent and memorable. The tour guide included a lot of informative and detailed facts about the sites we visited. My highlights were seeing the monasteries from afar as well as the tour inside the Chapel which was also an ancient Greek temple.
I highly recommend going with Visit Meteora, you will not regret it!

The Sunset Tour is an ideal way to view all of the monasteries and learn the history of the area. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patiently answered everyone's questions. Learning the history of the Byzantine church helped us understand the frescoes in the monastery chapels as most were very similar. We only actually went inside one monastery and the church in Kalambaka, but went to some well-known, and some out-of-the-way, viewpoints to take amazing pictures. The tour requires some hiking, but most sites were easily accessible. Highly recommend this tour to get an overview of the area to further explore desired sites at your leisure.
Meteora is more than its monasteries and sunset. The city is filled with much history (Ancient Greek, Roman, and Ottoman) and nature wonder. This tour offers you MORE THAN sunset and photography. The travel guide Vasili lives in town. He has plenty knowledge of Meteora. Whether you are just here for photo, or a history guru, enjoy the trip with Vasili.
I was in Meteora in 2019 Dec and booked the tour with Vasili. I returned again in 2021 with my newly wed wife, and booked the same tour for us.
Be sure your phone is charged and plenty memory space for the photos. Enjoy the trip!
