Tour Details

Ride the smile-making bikes between the rock giants of Meteora and learn about culture, tradition and history of the cliff-suspended Monasteries and their surroundings from a certified local bike leader.

Even for those that they are not in great shape, the electric assistance bikes are powerful enough to do all the work and let the visitor focus on the landscape without getting tired.

We meet in front of the Meteora e-Bike office, right in the center of the lovely town of Kalampaka. We pick and adjust our bikes and equipment. Your leader will lead you out on a 4-hour sightseeing and monastery visiting tour by e-bike.

Hear stories about tradition, history and landmarks you see along the route. Short breaks for pictures and chat. Groups are small, with a maximum of 8 people and your smiling local tour leader.

How late can I make a booking?

You can make a booking with us literally at the last minute! Just keep in mind that there may be no seats left on the tour if you do that! We recommend booking at least one week in advance, in order to have the best chances of finding availability.

Which tours can I join on the same day?

We have split our tours tom morning and afternoon ones. Furthermore, all our tours visit different places at Meteora. This way, you can combine any morning tour with any afternoon tour you wish! All all-time-classic combination is the Meteora Hiking Tour in the morning and the Meteora Sunset Tour in the afternoon.

The Sunset Tour is an ideal way to view all of the monasteries and learn the history of the area. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patiently answered everyone's questions. Learning the history of the Byzantine church helped us understand the frescoes in the monastery chapels as most were very similar. We only actually went inside one monastery and the church in Kalambaka, but went to some well-known, and some out-of-the-way, viewpoints to take amazing pictures. The tour requires some hiking, but most sites were easily accessible. Highly recommend this tour to get an overview of the area to further explore desired sites at your leisure.

Meteora is more than its monasteries and sunset. The city is filled with much history (Ancient Greek, Roman, and Ottoman) and nature wonder. This tour offers you MORE THAN sunset and photography. The travel guide Vasili lives in town. He has plenty knowledge of Meteora. Whether you are just here for photo, or a history guru, enjoy the trip with Vasili. I was in Meteora in 2019 Dec and booked the tour with Vasili. I returned again in 2021 with my newly wed wife, and booked the same tour for us. Be sure your phone is charged and plenty memory space for the photos. Enjoy the trip!
