The train tickets are all issued on 2nd class seats as standard. If you wish to upgrade them to 1st class seats you may choose to add to your basket the 1st class seats upgrade add-on that will pop-up on your screen before you complete the booking!
IMPORTANT: The trains are not direct. You will switch trains at Paleofarsalos station on both trips.
Day 1, Thessaloniki to Meteora and Sunset Tour
Trains are the most spacious and comfortable mode of travel in Greece. Catch the train to Kalambaka at 08:56 am from Thessaloniki Railway Station and enjoy a trip that will give you the chance to admire the beauty of the Greek countryside. Upon your arrival in Kalambaka, at around 12:03 am, our English speaking driver will be waiting for you at the train station holding a signboard with your name on it to transfer you to your hotel. Late in the afternoon, our VIP mini bus will pick you up from the hotel to join 'Meteora Sunset Tour' to admire breathtaking views of Meteora and to discover the hidden gems of this place.
Day 2, Morning tour and free afternoon
For the next morning we offer you the chance to choose the activity you wish: the 'Half-Day morning Tour of Meteora' to see the main attractions, the monasteries of Meteora with a VIP minibus, or the 'Hiking Tour of Meteora' to walk among the rock giants. Experience amazing sceneries and visit monuments of the Byzantine period, the monasteries of Meteora and learn their history. After this morning tour, at around 13:00 pm, the bus will drop you back to your hotel. The evening is free for you to explore the area on your own.
Day 3, Free morning and back to Thessaloniki
The morning is free. In the evening a taxi transfer from your hotel at 18:00 pm to the local train station at Kalambaka will be arranged for you. At 18:22 pm the train departs from Kalambaka and arrives at 22:19 pm to Thessaloniki.
No. On our train tours, you will board the train from Athens or Thessaloniki on your own, using the tickets we will send you via email. Our guide will meet you at Kalabaka train station after your train arrives at Meteora. He will be holding a signboard with your name written on it in the parking lot of Kalabaka train station.

There is an off-chance that a train inspector might give you a hard time if you present them with an electronic version of your tickets. This is why we recommend you to print them.
Please be at the station at least 30 minutes before the departure in order to have plenty of time to find your coach and seats. The stewards there will assist you.
Yes, there is a cafeteria-coach inside every train, where you can buy snacks and refreshments.
Yes, first class seats are more comfortable and quieter. They are almost always arranged in a 6-seat-rooms, offering a higher amount of privacy and the first class coach is located next to the cafeteria, offering fast access there.
