Transportation Update: Due to recent flooding disrupting train services, we’ve arranged modern, air-conditioned express shuttle transportation from Athens to Meteora and onwards to Delphi.
Journey Details: Your journey from Athens to Meteora will take approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes, including a 20-minute stop for refreshments and restroom use. From Meteora to Delphi, the departure is at 9:00 am by express shuttle bus or car, providing door-to-door service.
Bus Identification: Keep an eye out for buses displaying the logo “Visit Meteora” at the front door for easy identification.
Departure Information: The bus will depart promptly at 08:00 am from Larissis train station in Athens. Please ensure your presence at the exit of the Larissa metro/subway station on Deligianni str, directly opposite the Athens train station, by 07:45 am. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1, Athens to Meteora and Sunset Tour
Catch the morning bus to Kalambaka at 8:00 AM from Athens Larissa railway station. Upon your arrival in Kalambaka at around 12:49 PM, your English-speaking driver will be waiting for you at the train station holding a signboard with your name on it to transfer you to your hotel. In the late afternoon, the VIP minibus will pick you up from your hotel to join the Meteora Sunset Tour. Admire breathtaking views of Meteora and discover the hidden gems of this place on one of the best tours of mainland Greece.
Day 2, Morning tour and free afternoon
For the next morning you may choose the activity you wish to do: the 'Half-Day morning Tour of Meteora' to see the main attractions, the monasteries of Meteora with a VIP minibus or the 'Hiking Tour of Meteora'. Experience amazing sceneries and visit monuments of the Byzantine period, the monasteries of Meteora. After this morning tour, at around 13:00 pm, the bus will drop you back to your hotel. The evening is free for you to explore the area on your own.
Day 3, Meteora to Delphi and Athens
At 9:00 AM, meet your express shuttle transfer driver at the designated location (your driver will inform you where). Travel by car or bus towards Delphi, which will take approximately 3 hours.Enroute to Delphi, make a stop at the legendary battlefield of Thermopylae, where the 300 Spartans stood against the Persian army. Explore and learn about this historic site, adding a touch of ancient heroism to your journey. Upon arriving in Delphi, your driver will show you the bus station where you can safely leave your luggage. Start your exploration of Delphi by visiting the Delphi Museum, which houses an impressive collection of ancient artifacts and sculptures, including the famous Charioteer of Delphi. After the museum, take a short walk to the Delphi archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the ancient ruins, including the Temple of Apollo, the Athenian Treasury, and the Theater of Delphi. At 4:00 PM, catch your bus from Delphi to Athens, which will take about 3 hours. Arrive in Athens at around 7:00 PM, marking the end of your tour from Meteora to Delphi.
